Caleb is Now Six!

Friday was Caleb's 6th birthday. We are waiting to have his party until the 24th, because his Grandma will be here then (yay!), but we did let him have a sleep-over to celebrate the actual day of his birth.

He invited his buddy JJ to come spend the night, and they had such a blast! First, Eric got them some happy meals, which is always a major treat! Then he took Caleb, Nate and JJ to see the new "How to Train a Dragon" movie. The movie was a hit! All three boys and Eric enjoyed it very much!

When they came home, we let them play a little wii, and they chose boxing, golf and bowling. Then it was time for bed, and they had very good attitudes about it, and were promised that they could play again in the morning. This was exciting for Caleb, since he rarely gets to play two days in a row.

They wanted to share a bed, and Caleb's was too small, so we set up the full-sized air mattress we have in the spare bedroom for them, and put their sleeping bags on it. They went to sleep after a few minutes of talking quietly.

We all got up bright and early in the morning for pancakes and scrambled eggs, and of course, a little bit more wii! After that, Eric took the boys to the playground for about an hour. They got to take turns on what they called the "spinner-thing", and Eric spun them on it until they got "spinning sick". They totally enjoyed it, though. And it was nice that the snow had melted enough that they could go to the playground again!

Then they came back for lunch, and after that, Eric and I had separate plans for the afternoon. The boys went with Eric, except for Sam, so this is the end of my recounting of Caleb's birthday.

It was a fun day, and I am so thankful to have had 6 years with such a sweet kid!
