Well...

I have been wanting to start a blog for quite some time now. It seems like a good way to keep our far-away friends and family up-to-date with what's going on in our lives. I think of things I could write about, and pictures I could put on here all the time. Like our trip tp Anchorage, or the process of making the boys their Easter baskets, or the Easter egg hunt we were invited to by some great friends.

But then I sit down to write it, and I just don't like it. So I haven't put anything on here, in spite of the fact that I've had the blog for, like.........well, a long time.

Today is Caleb's sixth birthday. He's not having his party until the 24th, but he is having one of his best buddies spend the night tonight, and Eric took them (and Nate) to the movies. What this means is that I am sitting in the house with Sam, and nothing to do, really.

So I have to decided to blog. And I will not delete this one. You know I'm not lying, because you have seen the proof.

On the off-chance that anyone who doesn't know me would be interested in reading this, I will quickly introduce myself, and my family. My name is Stephanie. My husband is Eric. Caleb is our 6-year-old son, Nate is our 2-year-old-son, and Sam is our 4-month old son.

A few things about us:

* We are a Christian family

* We are an Army family

* We live in Fairbanks, Alaska

* We are in the process of buying our first home (!!!)

* We moved here last summer from the Washington D.C. area, where we spent about 7 years of our lives rotting in traffic jams and trying to find parking spaces.

* Eric and I met in high school, and we got married at age 18. It has been 8 1/2 years, and yes, I am pretty much tired of hearing about how young we were. In fact, I've been tired of it for about 8 1/2 years. I hope that doesn't seem harsh to anyone...

* Our house is full of boys. This means that there is always somebody throwing something, breaking something, pushing someone, yelling about something, making car noises/rocket ship noises/alien battle noises/, making a mess, laughing, dropping food on the floor, peeing in the wrong places, and just causing general chaos. And I hope it stays this way as long as possible. :) With the possible exception of the pee.

* I like to make little smiley faces when I type. :)

* :)

* I also like to emphasize a point with a "lone" punctuation mark. For instance, if I am really shocked by something, I might write, "I cannot believe that just happened!!!

! "

I know this is not proper grammar. I don't care. It's fun.

* I have now run out of statements to follow asterisks.

And I believe that *this* shall be my first blog entry.........EVER.

(applause)
